The Happy Dress

"Fashion changes, but style endures"
Coco Chanel

Honestly, a shift dress is everything and more. You should have one or two if you're pro "comfortable fashion". You should have one or two if you're pro "glam fashion".

The versatility of this happy dress is absolutely amazing. Your one shift dress can go from casual to formal. It is as easy to dress up as it is to dress down.

It is a plus that the shift dress embraces all body types; slightly boyish or rectangular to the full figured woman.

However, because it has basically no shape or detail, it is likely to look drab or unflattering so;
•Pick one with colour or print

•Add a belt to cinch in your waist if you want to show off your figure
•Wear one that is slightly tailored

•Accessorize; sun hats, fedora hats, sneakers and flat sandals- if you're aiming for a casual look and heels(pums or sandals) for a chic look.

The shift dress is non-discriminatory.

There really aren't any "don'ts" to this trend. Go with your instincts. If it feels right, it probably looks right.

Until next time,
It's Tee.

  1. Nice. I should get me some of these.

  2. Very insightful post Miss Tee

  3. I think it looks absolutely fabulous on Victoria Beckham but If I were to speak on an advantage for this, it would be its ease at coming off when need be. Thank you.

  4. Nice piece, well done sister.

1, 2, Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Fashion is not necessarily about labels or brands. It's about something else that comes from within you" - Ralph Lauren
I feel the need to apologize in advance for the number of Ankara outfits that you'll find here. After garri (well, any form of swallow really) and soup, my next favorite thing is Ankara, closely followed by retro prints.
In this post, we're styling a basic white button-down shirt in two refreshing ways.
Now, a white button-down shirt is a wardrobe essential. Like a little black dress or a pair of very flattering jeeans, it is a fashion must-have.
It is chic through all seasons, for all ages and it works for about just every event.
For the first look, I tucked my white button-down shirt into an Ankara pencil, midi length skirt for a tailored appeal.
This simple ensemble can work for the office on a Monday or a Friday as the case may be.
Aiming for a more casual feel in the second look, I decided to pair my white button-down shirt with a pair of…

3, 4 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Elegance is not standing out but being remembered"- Giorgio Armani
Because 1, 2 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt was such a favorite, we're back with another one!
It can not be over emphasized. A white button-down shirt is the real deal. Its tailored shape brings elegance to both casual and formal ensembles alike.
There really aren't a lot of wardrobe essentials that we lean on more than this statement piece. I know I said that about the basic white tee and maybe a couple of other fashion items, but stay with me here. Okay?
This time I decided to take it up a notch (or I'd like to think that's what I did).
In the first look which is my favorite of the two, I have on an Ankara pinafore over my white button-down shirt. This had me reminiscing on my secondary school days  Funny enough, I couldn't wait to graduate from Junior Secondary just so I could get out of wearing pinafores. Now they're stylish. Yay! Fashion.

For the second look which is…

Dressing Appropriately for Your Body Type

"The dress should follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress" - Hubert de Givenchy
Hello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry, life has been, well, life.
Over the months, I've gotten E-mails with questions in the line of "Oh this looks so good, do you think it would look good on me too". Then, there's my friend and flat mate Ehimen who doesn't wear any colors except black because she thinks they''ll make her look big. I thought about these and I decided to put together a little guide to help you dress appropriately for your body type.
Now, essentially, there are four body types; the hour glass, the apple, the banana and the pear.

THE HOURGLASS You know you're hourglass when you're extremely curvy with a tiny waist.
Work towards highlighting your curves and not hiding them. You can achieve this via belts.
For bottoms, wear a lot of pencil skirts and wide-legged pants.

Wrap dresses are perfect.
For tops, …
