Mixing Prints 101

Gone are the days when mixing prints and patterns was a massive faux pas. Nothing sets you apart right now like a print-on-print ensemble. The sheer boldness of it is unrivaled.
Undoubtedly, this is one tricky trend to pull off. Matter of fact, it is right up the scale of tricky trends. However, it is a lot easier than it looks. All you need are a few guidelines and a lot of attitude and you'll be mixing prints like an expert in no time.
My first attempt at mixing prints was a total disaster. What's worse is I didn't know it at the time. I managed to put gingham, hounds-tooth and stripes in one outfit and for some reason,  I felt it looked good. I set off for a lunch date with a friend whom I'm sincerely still pissed at for telling me I looked nice.
Thankfully, I'm better now. At least, I'd like to think so.
