Monochromes - Again

I know I'm awfully late with this post but better late than never right?

I love new years! I love the feeling of starting over, the feeling of a fresh page or a blank slate as the case may be.

2016 was a bit of a roller coaster year for me with some very high highs and a couple of very low lows. However, it is a year that I'm extremely thankful for solely for the fact that it taught me strength that I didn't realize I was capable of.

How did you find 2016?

I'm one of those cheesy people who always makes New Year Resolutions. It doesn't matter that I don't do some of them at all or that I give up on others well before mid-year, I don't let that deter my January 1st 'New year, new me' convictions.

Top of that this year is that I'm making a conscious effort to take things very easy. To be less anxious, to worry less, to complain less and to just breathe! So far, quite good!

Do you make new year resolutions? What are some of yours?

Currently, I'm reading Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding. A few pages into it and she itemizes her new year resolutions; one of which is - "I will not fall for any of the following: alcoholics, workaholics, commitment phobics, people with girlfriends or wives, misogynists, megalomaniacs, chauvinists, emotional fuckwits or perverts and freeloaders"

For some reason, I had a hearty laugh at this and I knew that it was a book I wasn't going to be able to put down until I turned the very last page.

What are you currently reading?

My plans for the blog this year include a lot more collaborations (with other bloggers and brands), diversification of content (I hear some of you are tired of seeing just my face on the blog), more travel posts and most importantly, consistent but quality posts.

What more would you like to see? Please share with us in the comment section.

So,welcome back everyone. I hope you had an amazing holiday.

Happy 2017!
It's Tee

1, 2, Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Fashion is not necessarily about labels or brands. It's about something else that comes from within you" - Ralph Lauren
I feel the need to apologize in advance for the number of Ankara outfits that you'll find here. After garri (well, any form of swallow really) and soup, my next favorite thing is Ankara, closely followed by retro prints.
In this post, we're styling a basic white button-down shirt in two refreshing ways.
Now, a white button-down shirt is a wardrobe essential. Like a little black dress or a pair of very flattering jeeans, it is a fashion must-have.
It is chic through all seasons, for all ages and it works for about just every event.
For the first look, I tucked my white button-down shirt into an Ankara pencil, midi length skirt for a tailored appeal.
This simple ensemble can work for the office on a Monday or a Friday as the case may be.
Aiming for a more casual feel in the second look, I decided to pair my white button-down shirt with a pair of…

3, 4 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Elegance is not standing out but being remembered"- Giorgio Armani
Because 1, 2 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt was such a favorite, we're back with another one!
It can not be over emphasized. A white button-down shirt is the real deal. Its tailored shape brings elegance to both casual and formal ensembles alike.
There really aren't a lot of wardrobe essentials that we lean on more than this statement piece. I know I said that about the basic white tee and maybe a couple of other fashion items, but stay with me here. Okay?
This time I decided to take it up a notch (or I'd like to think that's what I did).
In the first look which is my favorite of the two, I have on an Ankara pinafore over my white button-down shirt. This had me reminiscing on my secondary school days  Funny enough, I couldn't wait to graduate from Junior Secondary just so I could get out of wearing pinafores. Now they're stylish. Yay! Fashion.

For the second look which is…

Dressing Appropriately for Your Body Type

"The dress should follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress" - Hubert de Givenchy
Hello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry, life has been, well, life.
Over the months, I've gotten E-mails with questions in the line of "Oh this looks so good, do you think it would look good on me too". Then, there's my friend and flat mate Ehimen who doesn't wear any colors except black because she thinks they''ll make her look big. I thought about these and I decided to put together a little guide to help you dress appropriately for your body type.
Now, essentially, there are four body types; the hour glass, the apple, the banana and the pear.

THE HOURGLASS You know you're hourglass when you're extremely curvy with a tiny waist.
Work towards highlighting your curves and not hiding them. You can achieve this via belts.
For bottoms, wear a lot of pencil skirts and wide-legged pants.

Wrap dresses are perfect.
For tops, …
