Mixing Prints 201

Hi everyone,

The truth is, mixing prints is actually a whole lot easier than it looks. Once you learn the basics, everything else is easy peasy.


I did an extensive post here on how to mix prints. It detailed four rules;
Attention to scaleBreaking up the pieces with solidsUsing colors from the same pallet andKeeping it simple Honestly, these are pretty much all you need to mix and match prints nicely.
For this post, I styled two more outfits just to give you some more inspiration on mixing Ankara prints.


The first outfit is an Ankara not-so-midi skirt paired with a tailored blouse. I added my green pumps to give it some more color.



The second outfit is an Ankara skater skirt paired with an Ankara Cold-shoulder top and my white sneakers to make me look like a baby girl. Because, once a baby girl, always a baby girl.

By now, you'd have known that my favorite thing after Ekpangnkwukwo and well, Garri and Soup is a well crafted Ankara Outfit.

I can say no to a lot of things but saying no to a beautiful Ankara outfit is something I can't quite do I'm afraid. That was the case when I stumbled on the Instagram account of the wonderful people over at MayRush.

I wanted to order everything but you know? The way my account is set up, I had to settle for just one dress. This one!

I had initially planned to wear this outfit on a trip with LuminaEfx to the Kajuru castle in Kaduna so I have been saving it. Since last year. Lol. Don't give me that look. I'm a stickler for plans.
Unfortunately, my village people have been bent on not letting that trip happen so I decided to shoot it anyway.
