Orire With Mayrush

"I've run out of fashion quotes"- Tee

By now, you'd have known that my favorite thing after Ekpangnkwukwo and well, Garri and Soup is a well crafted Ankara Outfit.

I can say no to a lot of things but saying no to a beautiful Ankara outfit is something I can't quite do I'm afraid. That was the case when I stumbled on the Instagram account of the wonderful people over at MayRush.

I wanted to order everything but you know? The way my account is set up, I had to settle for just one dress. This one!

I had initially planned to wear this outfit on a trip with LuminaEfx to the Kajuru castle in Kaduna so I have been saving it. Since last year. Lol. Don't give me that look. I'm a stickler for plans.

Unfortunately, my village people have been bent on not letting that trip happen so I decided to shoot it anyway.

I wore my Orire Shift dress to work afterwards (without the sneakers) and just about everyone ordered one too. You'd understand why. It's such a pretty and comfortable dress. Perfect for outings where you plan to get a three-month bump from just food. No one will be the wiser!!

In this post, I dressed it down but don't let that stop you from pairing it with heels and all that serenre. It's absolutely versatile.

Check out MayRush on Instagram here. Their outfits are pretty, fun and affordable.

Leave us a comment! Just because I love to hear from you.

Until Next Time,
It's Tee

1, 2, Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Fashion is not necessarily about labels or brands. It's about something else that comes from within you" - Ralph Lauren
I feel the need to apologize in advance for the number of Ankara outfits that you'll find here. After garri (well, any form of swallow really) and soup, my next favorite thing is Ankara, closely followed by retro prints.
In this post, we're styling a basic white button-down shirt in two refreshing ways.
Now, a white button-down shirt is a wardrobe essential. Like a little black dress or a pair of very flattering jeeans, it is a fashion must-have.
It is chic through all seasons, for all ages and it works for about just every event.
For the first look, I tucked my white button-down shirt into an Ankara pencil, midi length skirt for a tailored appeal.
This simple ensemble can work for the office on a Monday or a Friday as the case may be.
Aiming for a more casual feel in the second look, I decided to pair my white button-down shirt with a pair of…

Dressing Appropriately for Your Body Type

"The dress should follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress" - Hubert de Givenchy
Hello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry, life has been, well, life.
Over the months, I've gotten E-mails with questions in the line of "Oh this looks so good, do you think it would look good on me too". Then, there's my friend and flat mate Ehimen who doesn't wear any colors except black because she thinks they''ll make her look big. I thought about these and I decided to put together a little guide to help you dress appropriately for your body type.
Now, essentially, there are four body types; the hour glass, the apple, the banana and the pear.

THE HOURGLASS You know you're hourglass when you're extremely curvy with a tiny waist.
Work towards highlighting your curves and not hiding them. You can achieve this via belts.
For bottoms, wear a lot of pencil skirts and wide-legged pants.

Wrap dresses are perfect.
For tops, …

3, 4 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Elegance is not standing out but being remembered"- Giorgio Armani
Because 1, 2 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt was such a favorite, we're back with another one!
It can not be over emphasized. A white button-down shirt is the real deal. Its tailored shape brings elegance to both casual and formal ensembles alike.
There really aren't a lot of wardrobe essentials that we lean on more than this statement piece. I know I said that about the basic white tee and maybe a couple of other fashion items, but stay with me here. Okay?
This time I decided to take it up a notch (or I'd like to think that's what I did).
In the first look which is my favorite of the two, I have on an Ankara pinafore over my white button-down shirt. This had me reminiscing on my secondary school days  Funny enough, I couldn't wait to graduate from Junior Secondary just so I could get out of wearing pinafores. Now they're stylish. Yay! Fashion.

For the second look which is…
