Monochromes - Again

Taking Stock X MayRush

Hi everyone! Slowly but surely we've come to the end of the first half of 2017.
How are ya'll doing with those resolutions eh? So far, so good?

I decided to start this segment called "Taking Stock" which will itemize a few things (under simple headings) which I have been up to during the course of the month. The plan is to share it at the end of every month and also double it as a style post.

I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

So, currently, I am;

Wearing; A lot of Ankara. But then again, aren't I always! I love how surprised people get when they see how versatile Ankara can be.

Reading; An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher and The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Usually, I start a number of books and switch between them depending on my mood.

Eating; A lot of Pounded yam and Egusi soup. As usual! Also eating a lot of Nkataa's peppered local chicken. Hopefully it doesn't tear whatever few teeth I have left.

Drinking; A lot of malt and milk because, this bum bum must grow!!!

Listening to; Jidenna's Bambi and hoping that I'll tire of it really soon because I'm pissing everyone off with how much I play it.

Wishing; I wasn't as emotional as I am. It is a blessing and a curse really to feel everything so deeply.

Inspired by; Nothing at the moment. It is one of those times I absolutely do not want to do anything at all.

Irritated by: People who go out of their way to get you worked and then tell you to calm down. No sir, take this tirade of angry words and yes, I'm flipping the bird too.

Anticipating; A vacation sometime this year. We've been planning this for a while now so let's do thisssss.

Appreciating; God for all He has done for me this year, my Family and Friends for being there for me through pretty difficult times and You all for always reading, sharing and leaving me comments.

Planning to; Finally make the transition to my natural mane. Was sitting there the other day crying from the sting of relaxer and I realized that I actually do not have to go through that ever again. So, hello, Afro!

Wondering; What to do differently on the blog. I get the sense that you guys are beginning to tire of me. New segments? Write differently? Let me know! Thank you!

Dreading;  The fact that I actually have to buy a new phone. It's been a long time coming and honestly, I'm no where near ready. Ugh!

Dress; Moyo by Mayrush. You can find them on Instagram, Here. I previously styled an outfit from them Here.

Shoes; Shoesareus. You can find them on Instagram, Here

Did you enjoy this? Leave me a comment. Just because I love to hear from you!

Until Next Time,
It's Tee

  1. Lol girl because you know I have to ask, who told you malt and coke will make your bum bum grow lol. Try squatting, it works oh. And as for natural hair transitioning, I considered it for a while too especially seeing as I have never gotten a relaxer that does not burn but then I wonder if I can keep it up. And if your looking for new segments, how about more collabs or lifestyle? That is i f you go out often tho.

     Princess Audu

    1. Lmao. Honestly, I don't know where I picked that up from. But I'm hoping it works because I have invested in about three crates of malt.

I actually don't go out much but I can try to make it work around the few times I do. I'm boring myself. Honestly.

  2. Tired of your posts? For me nahhh! yet switching things up isn't a bad idea. I wonder how you are able to keep up with 3 books at a time, well I guess it's the same way people watch different TV series at the same time, and your drinking milk and malt so that thy bum shall increase let's see how it goes LOL :D :D Nice one as always Tee.

    1. Lmao. I 'll be sure to give an update on the Bum bum challenge.

      Thanks Ebun.

  3. That emotional thing is my burden too. When i am happy, i am overly happy and when i am sad...hmn
    God help us sha

  4. I only heard milka md malt makes you add weight but i guess since that's what it does should work for your bum.. keep me updated.
I usually read a numner of books together also lol, so incase I'm not feeling one can move on.
The dress looks amazing on you but then again what doesn’t look good on you?

1, 2, Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Fashion is not necessarily about labels or brands. It's about something else that comes from within you" - Ralph Lauren
I feel the need to apologize in advance for the number of Ankara outfits that you'll find here. After garri (well, any form of swallow really) and soup, my next favorite thing is Ankara, closely followed by retro prints.
In this post, we're styling a basic white button-down shirt in two refreshing ways.
Now, a white button-down shirt is a wardrobe essential. Like a little black dress or a pair of very flattering jeeans, it is a fashion must-have.
It is chic through all seasons, for all ages and it works for about just every event.
For the first look, I tucked my white button-down shirt into an Ankara pencil, midi length skirt for a tailored appeal.
This simple ensemble can work for the office on a Monday or a Friday as the case may be.
Aiming for a more casual feel in the second look, I decided to pair my white button-down shirt with a pair of…

3, 4 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Elegance is not standing out but being remembered"- Giorgio Armani
Because 1, 2 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt was such a favorite, we're back with another one!
It can not be over emphasized. A white button-down shirt is the real deal. Its tailored shape brings elegance to both casual and formal ensembles alike.
There really aren't a lot of wardrobe essentials that we lean on more than this statement piece. I know I said that about the basic white tee and maybe a couple of other fashion items, but stay with me here. Okay?
This time I decided to take it up a notch (or I'd like to think that's what I did).
In the first look which is my favorite of the two, I have on an Ankara pinafore over my white button-down shirt. This had me reminiscing on my secondary school days  Funny enough, I couldn't wait to graduate from Junior Secondary just so I could get out of wearing pinafores. Now they're stylish. Yay! Fashion.

For the second look which is…

Dressing Appropriately for Your Body Type

"The dress should follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress" - Hubert de Givenchy
Hello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry, life has been, well, life.
Over the months, I've gotten E-mails with questions in the line of "Oh this looks so good, do you think it would look good on me too". Then, there's my friend and flat mate Ehimen who doesn't wear any colors except black because she thinks they''ll make her look big. I thought about these and I decided to put together a little guide to help you dress appropriately for your body type.
Now, essentially, there are four body types; the hour glass, the apple, the banana and the pear.

THE HOURGLASS You know you're hourglass when you're extremely curvy with a tiny waist.
Work towards highlighting your curves and not hiding them. You can achieve this via belts.
For bottoms, wear a lot of pencil skirts and wide-legged pants.

Wrap dresses are perfect.
For tops, …
