Athleisure X Giveaway

Hi everyone!

I've been away for what! Two months? Sincere apologies. I needed to take a break to house hunt and then move houses. Clearly, I underestimated how time consuming that would be, especially with work on the other hand.

Also, I got robbed. If you're friends with me on Facebook, then you probably already know this.
In summary, I thought I was a bad guy. But, I'm not. Some riff raff was able to collect my phones and laptop with a small knife and I didn't have the heart to call his bluff. Admittedly, he did have a knife. So, Robber, 1, Tee 0. Till next time.

I'm back now. I hope. Lol! And I come bearing a bribe gift. Issa giveawayyyyyyyy! So stay with me.

The atheleisure trend has been around for a while and it's one trend that has come to grow on me. I remember seeing it some time back and wondering what the heck these fashion enthusiasts are always up to.

But, look at me now! I guess I should have known I would come to fall in love with it. I love everything comfortable. If I can walk around in sports wear, count me in.

So, here I am with two ways to rock athleisure. I'm not going to bore you with do's and don't's because I assume that everyone has most likely seen this somewhere.

For this post, I'm styling two very different looks; The Almost-Casual and The Chic.

Almost-Casual
Here, I styled my green TNL Barbie Satin Cargo pants with a  green T-shirt. The idea was athleisure and monochrome.

I paired it with my green poms previously styled in the Christmas look-book, here.

It turns out that I own two pairs of this TNL pants. The first was given to me a few months back and I fell absolutely in love with it. I stashed it somewhere while I kept thinking about the perfect way to style it. When the time eventually came, I just couldn't find it. So, I bought a second pair and yhup! You guessed right - I found the old pair immediately after. So, a size 8 chic is in luck today.

All you have to do is follow me on Instagram, here and leave me a comment (on the blog-below) with how you'll style yours and I'll pick the most innovative comment! Let's see if these styling tips have been paying off.

Chic
For my second look, I paired my black joggers? I'm not  sure what these are called with a white button down shirt,

Related 1,2 and 3,4 ways to style your white button-down shirt

A pair of black poms to finish this off and you are ready to head to - err, I'm not sure. Just be going.

More ways to style athleisure would include pairing your joggers and sweat pants with plaid shirts, denim and everything in between. Switch your heels with sneakers for a more sporty appeal - if that's your thing.

So, who else is ready to take her exercise wear out for a spin?

Don't forget to leave me your comments. Winner will be announced in our next post.

Until Next Time,
It's Tee

  1. Sorry about getting robbed that really sucks
Well I would style this with a crop top but not so shirt cos I don't like to shoe too much belly and definitely sneakers. My styor is more laid back like that

  2. Yooooo, welcome back boo. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sure that robber is somewhere, sorry for what he did. I'd really love to win this pair. It's so cute. I have this denim shirt that has been lying fallow in my wardrobe for sometime now. I'd totally pair it with this green pair, slay it with my green heeled mules and top it off with a black hat so I look like someone out of a Leonardo Di Caprio movie 😎😎. I do hope I win. Instagram will not hear word πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  3. Welcome back Tee and sorry about the robbery..
So I have this cute white turtle neck crop top which I think would go well with the green TNL pants. For a classy/sexy look, I'll pair that with my nude heels (wish I had green like you) and for a sporty/sexy look, I'll pair with my sneakers...
    Fingers crossed...

  4. Hi Tee,
So sorry about the robbery. Thankful only material things were lost and you weren't hurt.
    And congratulations on the move!
So me being a neutral colours girl, plus being a lawyer, I'm leaning more towards the black joggers. I would pair it with a loose black jumper/sweater and nude heels or black mules for a chic look and for a more relaxed look i would pair it with a pair of vans(recently gifted and I've been looking how to style itπŸ’‘)and a cropped long sleeved hoodie or a cami or I'll just steal my boyfriend's Fela t-shirt. Lol
So many styling options in my head for this. I really hope i win.

  6. Hello Tee. I'm super sorry about the robbery. Sigh.

Lol. I've always wanted an outfit in olive green, I can think of a thousand ways to style this.
Firstly, for a chic and colorful look, a silky shirt in mustard tucked in this TNL pants with a brown tasseled loafers.
Alternatively, for a more casual look, a cool white tee, grey sling bag and black court shoes. I also see myself in a denim jacket, loose white top and a green scarf around my neck.
A crop top, plaid shirt around my waist and a baseball hat will make this trendy.
Lmao. This is my currently doing the most for these pants.

  7. Sorry about the robbery. I'll probably go with a mustard yellow short halter top with nude heels or a simple peach chiffon sleeveless top tucked in and paired with black strapped heels. For a more causal look, a tight white T-shirt, big sunglasses and my Nike airmax or converse , a nice chic black backpack and anklets.

  8. Welcome back.
Glad to know you're doing okay.

    Eyes on the green pair
A loose-fitted tank top, tucked in with heels, Or a black crop top with sneakers works well for me.

  9. Welcome back Tee! See me thinkin' you went on one of your usual breaks not knowing that a spawn of Satan was doing the most. We accept your bribe and hope you stick around much longer. The Athleisure trend is one fashion trend I'm yet to jump on as I don't own any sportswear does a sports bra count? Anyway, I'm totally vibing with the monochromatic look because it's in my favorite Fall Color; Yes! Olive Green and I have a similar look on my blog. I see myself wearing these pants with a black inscription tee and perhaps sneakers or flat shoes depending on the occasion or mood.

1, 2, Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Fashion is not necessarily about labels or brands. It's about something else that comes from within you" - Ralph Lauren
I feel the need to apologize in advance for the number of Ankara outfits that you'll find here. After garri (well, any form of swallow really) and soup, my next favorite thing is Ankara, closely followed by retro prints.
In this post, we're styling a basic white button-down shirt in two refreshing ways.
Now, a white button-down shirt is a wardrobe essential. Like a little black dress or a pair of very flattering jeeans, it is a fashion must-have.
It is chic through all seasons, for all ages and it works for about just every event.
For the first look, I tucked my white button-down shirt into an Ankara pencil, midi length skirt for a tailored appeal.
This simple ensemble can work for the office on a Monday or a Friday as the case may be.
Aiming for a more casual feel in the second look, I decided to pair my white button-down shirt with a pair of…

3, 4 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Elegance is not standing out but being remembered"- Giorgio Armani
Because 1, 2 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt was such a favorite, we're back with another one!
It can not be over emphasized. A white button-down shirt is the real deal. Its tailored shape brings elegance to both casual and formal ensembles alike.
There really aren't a lot of wardrobe essentials that we lean on more than this statement piece. I know I said that about the basic white tee and maybe a couple of other fashion items, but stay with me here. Okay?
This time I decided to take it up a notch (or I'd like to think that's what I did).
In the first look which is my favorite of the two, I have on an Ankara pinafore over my white button-down shirt. This had me reminiscing on my secondary school days  Funny enough, I couldn't wait to graduate from Junior Secondary just so I could get out of wearing pinafores. Now they're stylish. Yay! Fashion.

For the second look which is…

Dressing Appropriately for Your Body Type

"The dress should follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress" - Hubert de Givenchy
Hello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry, life has been, well, life.
Over the months, I've gotten E-mails with questions in the line of "Oh this looks so good, do you think it would look good on me too". Then, there's my friend and flat mate Ehimen who doesn't wear any colors except black because she thinks they''ll make her look big. I thought about these and I decided to put together a little guide to help you dress appropriately for your body type.
Now, essentially, there are four body types; the hour glass, the apple, the banana and the pear.

THE HOURGLASS You know you're hourglass when you're extremely curvy with a tiny waist.
Work towards highlighting your curves and not hiding them. You can achieve this via belts.
For bottoms, wear a lot of pencil skirts and wide-legged pants.

Wrap dresses are perfect.
For tops, …
