Pleats Please?

Hi everyone!

Is that an eye roll I see for yet another pleat post? It better not be! Pleats are amazing and I did warn you that there will be more to come. So, we are just getting started. Sit back, relax and let me overload you with pleated skirts. Lol.

I'd just like to take a moment to say thanks for all the love on my previous post. Also, I will be announcing the winner of the TNL Barbie Satin Cargo pants, so do keep reading.

I have actually had this skirt for quite a while now but never really got around to wearing it. I think I am finally coming to terms with the fact that I might be a hoarder when it comes to clothes. I just sit on them until I am genuinely convinced that the occasion deserves the slay.

That my dears, is the story of this skirt that has been in my wardrobe for more than half a year now.

For this post, I styled my metallic pleat skirt with a slip dress which I previously styled here. I added a pair of red sandals to finish up a dainty appeal. Honestly, I think I killed it. If I may say so myself. Duh!

I think that pleated skirts are the most versatile clothing items since the white button shirt. They can go from drab to glam with just a little touch here or there.

As usual, remember to keep the waist cinched so you don't get lost in folds. Also remember to stick to knife pleats if you have a fuller figure.

And the winner of our giveaway isssssssssss Oluwatosin Mo Olaniyi. Please reach out to me via Email with your delivery details.

I had to ask Sarah Audu of to help with the selection process because there were quite a number of good entries, I just couldn't pick one. Thank you for entering all! Not to worry, there will be lots of other giveaways to come and hopefully more that will be all size-embracing.

Before I leave, I have been toying with the idea of introducing more sections that are not style related. Maybe book reviews? And those random musings we always talked about? Let me know what you think about these and anything else in the comment section.

1, 2, Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Fashion is not necessarily about labels or brands. It's about something else that comes from within you" - Ralph Lauren
I feel the need to apologize in advance for the number of Ankara outfits that you'll find here. After garri (well, any form of swallow really) and soup, my next favorite thing is Ankara, closely followed by retro prints.
In this post, we're styling a basic white button-down shirt in two refreshing ways.
Now, a white button-down shirt is a wardrobe essential. Like a little black dress or a pair of very flattering jeeans, it is a fashion must-have.
It is chic through all seasons, for all ages and it works for about just every event.
For the first look, I tucked my white button-down shirt into an Ankara pencil, midi length skirt for a tailored appeal.
This simple ensemble can work for the office on a Monday or a Friday as the case may be.
Aiming for a more casual feel in the second look, I decided to pair my white button-down shirt with a pair of…

3, 4 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt

"Elegance is not standing out but being remembered"- Giorgio Armani
Because 1, 2 Ways To Style Your White Button-down Shirt was such a favorite, we're back with another one!
It can not be over emphasized. A white button-down shirt is the real deal. Its tailored shape brings elegance to both casual and formal ensembles alike.
There really aren't a lot of wardrobe essentials that we lean on more than this statement piece. I know I said that about the basic white tee and maybe a couple of other fashion items, but stay with me here. Okay?
This time I decided to take it up a notch (or I'd like to think that's what I did).
In the first look which is my favorite of the two, I have on an Ankara pinafore over my white button-down shirt. This had me reminiscing on my secondary school days  Funny enough, I couldn't wait to graduate from Junior Secondary just so I could get out of wearing pinafores. Now they're stylish. Yay! Fashion.

For the second look which is…

Dressing Appropriately for Your Body Type

"The dress should follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress" - Hubert de Givenchy
Hello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry, life has been, well, life.
Over the months, I've gotten E-mails with questions in the line of "Oh this looks so good, do you think it would look good on me too". Then, there's my friend and flat mate Ehimen who doesn't wear any colors except black because she thinks they''ll make her look big. I thought about these and I decided to put together a little guide to help you dress appropriately for your body type.
Now, essentially, there are four body types; the hour glass, the apple, the banana and the pear.

THE HOURGLASS You know you're hourglass when you're extremely curvy with a tiny waist.
Work towards highlighting your curves and not hiding them. You can achieve this via belts.
For bottoms, wear a lot of pencil skirts and wide-legged pants.

Wrap dresses are perfect.
For tops, …
